Rostov-on-Don, Don area capital, is the perfect location for an international Conference. It has all the facilities international delegates would expect and is small enough, and friendly enough, to explore thoroughly on foot. It has a magnificent city-centre setting.
Rostov-on-Don is a city rich in architectural delights, with the elegant buildings of the 18th Century contrasting with the characterful buildings of the 19th and 20th Century. The Conference will take place in the Rostov Public Library which is centrally located, close to the Center Town.

Rostov-on-Donl Airport, situated approximately 20 minutes from the city centre, is served by regular direct flights from many European cities. Up to 6 flights (approx. 1.5 hour's duration) are available daily from Moscow Vnukovo Airport from connections world-wide.
Some airlines flying to Rostov-on-Don:
Rostov-on-Don Railway Station, Rostov-on-Don main rail station, is at the west end of Bolshaya Sadovaya Street, the city's main street. Rail travel from Moscow takes approximately 24 hours and there are many rail connections from other Russia cities.

General registration will begin on Tuesday 24 May 1999 from 10.00-20.00 in the Rostov State University (See map, item 4). Thereafter, the registration desk will remain open throughout the Conference, beginning each morning at 10.00.

The Rostov State University and University dormitory snack bars will be open throughout the Conference and will sell a wide variety of sandwiches and hot lunches. Alternatively, there are a variety of restaurants, snack bars and shops in the vicinity of the Conference site.
Currency exchanges are available at Rostov Airport, Rostov Railway Station, and most Rostov city centre banks.
